Heart-warming Jewish music is what the four men and two women who make up Mazzeltov want to play. Everyone associates boisterous party music with Jewish and klezmer music. And naturally Mazzeltov fi ts the bill. But Jewish music is so much more. It could be a modest song from an eastern European SHTETL or a Sephardic love song . Mazzeltov does not limit itself to the klezmer and gypsy repertoire from eastern Europe, but also explores the Sephardic Jewish songs from the Mediterranean area, Yiddish theatre music from New York and Jewish folksongs from Amsterdam. Mazzeltov has been playing Dutch theatres and concert halls for years; two high points being at the Concertgebouw and Utrecht’s Vredenburg.
